How did we get here? |
How did we get here? There is division between Americans today that is almost as deep as it was just prior to the Civil War. The nation is split ideologically, liberals on the political left, conservatives on the right. There are many more conservatives than there are liberals. That is surprising given the impact liberals have had on the society. The conflict between liberals and conservatives is becoming angrier every day. I hear older friends expressing dismay at the way America has changed. The Tea Party was born when millions of Americans asked themselves the same question. How did we get where we are in this country today? I submit that there is one primary reason for what is happening. There are many issues and events that impact on where the country is. But the degeneration of American culture is the driving factor in what is wrong with our society. The Founders stated clearly that this nation’s form of government could not survive without moral leaders. Over decades there has been an unrelenting attack on religion, especially Christianity. It is clear that considerable energy and resources have been spent in attempts to diminish Christianity. That effort has been largely effective. I do not suggest that it is necessary to be Christian to be moral. But there is the need for Americans, especially our leaders, to be moral. Regardless of religious identification there can be no doubt that if every one even attempted to live moral lives many of the conflicts and much of the misery in the world would be greatly diminished. Relatively few people would recognize the name Antonio Gramsci. Gramsci was an Italian Marxist theorist in the 1920s. The following information provides an introduction to that infinitely sinister man. Gramsci witnessed the strength of a fortified Christian Europe during the early 1900’s. He rejected Christianity much like his Marxist brethren. He knew that Christianity was the bond that held together all classes. For this reason he knew that in order to achieve the utopian goal of communism, the Communist needed to destroy Christianity. In order to do this he knew that he would not only convince people to have a non-Christian mind but they would have to have an anti-Christian mind. Gramsci saw a way to achieve these ends by the use of Liberation Theology. Liberation Theology would not only create a new type of radical revolutionary but would also discourage the more conservative religious follower. Gramsci’s tactics have been extremely successful. Christians are the only group of people that can be vilified and ridiculed without any criticism from the politically correct. A result of anti-Christian belief and the effort to destroy Christianity is the concept of moral relativism that has infected our society. Consider the following from All About God News: No matter what your view is on religion, I ask whether this world would be a better place if only two of the Commandments were adhered to. Do unto others as we would have them do unto us. Or consider the idea that we should all love each other. Regardless of your ideological or theological views we would be living in a better world. Can anyone rationally argue against that statement? I suspect that very few people ever heard of Antonio Gramsci. They have no way of knowing that the denigration of Christians and Christianity today is the result of his Marxist scheme to destroy western culture. Gramsci’s ultimate goal was to destroy the capitalist economic system. Of course the resulting destruction of this country was assumed and desired by Gramsci.. I wonder whether those leftist academics who teach moral relativism to young students realize how this twisted and basically insane concept has contributed to the degeneration of our society and a threat to the very survival of America. In fact, I wonder whether they care. Gene Williams |
