GIVING $ AWAY ? GIVE IT BACK! TO THE PEOPLE ! NO BAI LOUTS! ANOTHER TEA PARTY

v
Hamilton has had its second Tea Party at Main St. and Route 93. A lot has happened since last year. The Tea Party began as demonstrations across the country. Now it is a national movement that has shaken politicians to the core. Americans are dissatisfied with the governmeParties have stopped listening to the people. It makes no difference whether Republicans or Democrats are in the majority; the politicians make it increasingly clear that they view the public treasury as their own personal piggybank.
The Bush Administration spent lavishly, culminating with TARP, a decidedly un-conservative fiscal initiative. Democrats have always been big spenders and under the current administration seem to have come unhinged by spending trillions of tax payer's dollars we do not have. Great numbers of Americans have realized thatnt. There is a growing realization that the political

something is terribly wrong with the way their government is working. The people have been going about the business of earning a living. The politicians have, over time and behind closed doors, looted Social Security. They have voted themselves annual pay increases, again, behind closed doors. When they gave themselves raises by voting publically the people complained. Now they make raises automatic. No matter how poorly they perform, they still get a pay hike.
Billions of tax dollars are taken from the public treasury in the form of earmarks. Another word used to describe those billions is "Pork." The politicians claim that they are duty bound to obtain funding for projects that benefit their constituents. Far too often the projects benefit the politicians and their associates. The system is corrupt and the American people know it. The money spent on earmarks would make a sizable

the red ... again

Let's examine this sorry record: F.D.R. introduced FICA (Social Security).
Lyndon Johnson pushed through "The Great Society" replete with massive welfare programs.
Jimmie Carter, helped by the National Education Association turning out Democrat voters, rewarded them with a new bureaucracy: Department of Education.
Bill Clinton traded military technology to Communist China for election funds.
Al Gore dreamed up the massive boondoggle of "Global Warming."
Barack Obama is trying to force "change" on us by bankrupting the U.S.A.; leaving us weak against AlQaida; and eliminating capitalism for European socialism.
Think about it — All of this has happened with Democratic Administrations! There will be a hue and cry on the Social Security item above: My point is that the bill's original intent was emasculated in subsequent administrations so that it's running in red ink now

Can atmospheric gases actually function as a greenhouse? Before I answer that question it might be important to understand how a greenhouse operates. Why does it get warm and hold heat? Once we understand why a greenhouse gets warm and holds heat we can determine if the atmosphere can duplicate what the greenhouse does.
The theory according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Al Gore states that increases in atmospheric CO2 from burning fossil fuel trap infrared energy and it warms the
atmosphere, therefore, the greenhouse effect. Sounds pretty scientific doesn't it.
Well that is not what happens in a greenhouse. Back in 1909, Professor Robert Williams Wood conducted an experiment. He built two greenhouses of the same size but one was covered by a sheet of glass that would block infrared radiation from entering or leaving and one was covered with a sheet of transparent rock salt that would allow infrared energy to pass through. He then put another sheet of glass above the rock salt to block the infrared radiation from the sun from entering that greenhouse. This insured both greenhouses received equal amounts of solar radiation. In his experiment, both greenhouses heated to around 50 degrees C and remain at that or very near that temperature. This experiment conclusively demonstrated that greenhouses heat up and stay warm by confining heated air rather than trapping infrared radiation.

A greenhouse stops the two major forms of heat transfer that takes place in the atmosphere, advection and convection. Of course the "so-called" greenhouse gases in the atmosphere can not stop advection or convection in any form or manner. The whole concept of atmospheric gases functioning like a greenhouse is based on false science and a severely uninformed media.
In fact, in 1963 Robert Fleagle and J. A. Businger confirmed Wood's findings on how a greenhouse functions. Their results
were published in their textbook "An Introduction to Atmospheric Physics". Since a greenhouse does not function by trapping infrared radiation the very idea that the atmosphere functions like a greenhouse and warm the atmosphere is completely bogus.
The process of molecular absorption of infrared radiation does not result in the molecule being warmed. In 1913, Physicist Niels Bohr discovered that the absorption of specific wavelengths of electro-magnetic energy do not heat the atom/molecule, but caused the electrons in an atom/molecule to move to a higher energy state. When the atom/molecule re-emits this radiation the atom/molecule simply drops back to its normal energy state. Therefore, absorption of infrared energy by CO2 and other "so-
called" greenhouse gases do not heat the atmosphere. The whole concept of greenhouse gases warming the atmosphere is false.

dent in the national debt.
Now, finally, with a Democratic Party president and Democratic Party control of both Houses of Congress, the government has decided that it is time for a total transformation of America. Apparently the best way to achieve that dubious goal is to bankrupt the nation for generations to come and violate the Constitution of the United States of America in the process.
Nowhere in the Constitution does it even imply that the government can force American citizens to enter into private contracts. The so called health care reform package has, among other things, stated the intention to force Americans to purchase health insurance. To make that outrageous requirement a reality, any American who does not purchase health insurance will be fined severely. The idea behind a policy like that is foreign to America. The American people have finally recognized how un-American and threatening our own government has become. That is what Tea Parties are about.
Of course wherever large numbers of people gather, opportunists of every stripe appear. They attempt to attach themselves to whatever cause has stirred the people enough for them to become active. As far as politicians are concerned, the Democratic Party is terrified of the Tea Party movement. They would love for the Tea Party people to become a third party. That will not happen.
Tea Party gatherings have included Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Blacks and Hispanics attended Tea Party gatherings. Democrats attempted to portray those Americans as exclusively white and racist. It was an especially contemptible tactic for Democrats to claim that the heated Town Hall meetings across the country were a Republican attempt to embarrass Democratic Party legislators. In fact the citizens who were filmed at Town Hall meetings were the Democratic constituents of the legislators holding the meetings.
Today, 2/15/10, one year after the first event in Hamilton, there was another Tea Party demonstration here. There were far fewer people on Main Street this year. There were reasons for that, but no one should assume that the numbers today have anything
to do with less interest in what Tea Parties are about. This is a national movement. Of course there are people who will portray the relatively small numbers of people today as evidence that the movement is loosing momentum. If it makes them happy they are welcome to that view.

In the January, 2010 issue of The First Edition I referred to a video I had seen several times. It showed President Obama extending his hand to a group of Russian government officials. They were lined up, apparently to shake the hand of the president. Other people were behind Barack Obama. I assumed they were also government officials.
The president extended his hand and every one of the Russians ignored it to reach for the hand of the person behind the president. I pointed out that while I do not agree with Barack Obama and regret that he is president, I was angered by the disrespect to the President of the United States.
During a recent discussion a liberal Democrat suggested to me that the video I mentioned had been altered and that there was an accurate video showing that one Russian after another did shake the president's hand. I remember the expression on the face of the president in the video I saw as he extended his hand to one person after another. What triggered my reluctant sympathy for him was the pained expression on his face that reflected increasing dismay as each of the Russians ignored his hand. However, I make no claim to being as computer literate as I would like. At this point I have to say that there is the possibility that the video I referenced was altered.
What my liberal Democrat friend did not understand was that by pointing out the possibility that the video was altered removed the only positive thing that I ever felt or wrote about Barack Obama.

Forgotten Hero - Part II

Because Mason was a member of the Constitutional Convention at Philadelphia in 1787 taking an active role in drafting the Constitution it seems ironic that a man who spent so much of his time and effort to establish a more perfect nation, would refuse to sign the document, which was to do just that; but this is just what Mason did-with good reasoning. His objections revolved around the fact that the Constitution contained no Bill of Rights. "There are no declaration of rights, "he stated, "and the last of the general government being paramount of the laws and constitution of several states are no security." The following are some of his objections:
The Constitution was too loosely worded and he feared that it would be used to deny individual and states' rights, so he opposed the formation of a strong central government.
He insisted that a Bill of Rights be included in the Constitution and was particularly afraid that without a guarantee in writing that rights to a trial by jury, the freedom to choose one's religion, and the freedom to write what one pleases would soon be denied.
He stated that the Constitution contained a central contradiction: The sanctioning of slavery "Every master of slaves is a born petty tyrant," he said, and believed, as did Jefferson, that a gradual abolition of slavery should be enacted immediately. He tended to be disgusted by most of his fellow delegates, who compromised and bargained on the issues of slavery and commerce (i.e. trading silence on slavery issues for support of interstate commerce clauses).
He objected to the taxation powers of government and foresaw "one tax leading to another and to the creation of an agency to enforce collection..."Put the purse and sword in the same hand," he said "and you would see an end to liberty."
Mason also objected to the fact that that under this Constitution, Congress would pass laws requiring only a majority vote.
It was also feared by Mason that an all-powerful federal judiciary would destroy state courts and make legal action "tedious, intricate, and expensive enabling the rich to oppress and ruin the poor."
Mason strongly objected to a Constitution, which would permit standing armies in peacetime.
He was fearful that the Senate had too much power.
Mason in a warning statement said, "Under their own construction of the general clause at the end of enumerated powers, the Congress may grant: Monopolies in trade and commerce, constitute new crimes, inflict unusual and severe punishments, and extend their power as far as they think proper."
Mason continued to object to the passage and ratification of the Constitution and with fellow anti-federalists such as Patrick Henry, carried his struggle for a federal Bill of Rights to the people. He barely lived long enough to see the victory for which he so bitterly fought. The Bill of Rights was adopted in December 1791 and Mason died in 1792. Because of the bitterness, which ensued throughout his struggles, his name and deeds were buried beneath those of more charismatic and flamboyant revolutionary heroes.
Though his name was lost, the results of his objections to the Constitution were not - and the first 10 Amendments as well as the" 11th and 22nd to the federal Constitution were monumental attempts to satisfy Mason's objections to a Constitution without a Bill of Rights.

In addition to the omission of the Bill of Rights to the Constitution there was also a slight change made in the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence to which Mason objected. (This
Preamble, by the way, was also a variation of the first three paragraphs of Mason's Declaration of Rights). What he objected to was the change in wording "Equality of freedom and independence", which was changed to "Equality of birth", and the words "pursuing and obtaining happiness" was changed to only the "pursuit of happiness." His objections were not unfounded, for as he himself saw, "The liberty to pursue happiness is enjoyed by slaves. It is nothing... It may be obtained only in a government in which every unnecessary restraint on the individual is expressly forbidden by stubborn laws, and where laws rule the rulers as well as the ruled with the same force."
It is understandable that Jefferson regarded Mason as the wisest man of his generation that James Madison described him as the greatest debater he had ever heard speak, and Patrick Henry named him the greatest statesman he had ever known. But, it is difficult to believe that current history books now in use in high schools, junior
colleges, and universities have little more to say about George Mason than that he was one of the anti-federalists, who attended the Constitutional Convention.
I must agree with author Joyce F. Jones, who stated in her article The Forgotten Hero (Persuasion, February 1968), "It is regrettable that Mason's story never became part of the popular folklore of the Revolutionary period because he was one of America's most influential spokesman for those principles: The political philosophy of rights and limited government," because it is perhaps due to George Mason's reluctance to compromise the moral principles he stated in his Virginian Declaration of Rights that a Bill of Rights even exists today. Perhaps one day if enough know of and appreciate what George Mason did for America, he will receive the credit for which he is due and perhaps as July 4 is celebrated as the beginning for a fight for freedom (actually the Declaration of Independence came on July 2), December 15 will be celebrated by those who respect and cherish the freedoms for which Mr. Mason and the anti-federalists so gallantly fought.

CHANGE OF PLANS

The First Edition encourages readers to submit letters or articles for publication. Our logo reads "Common Sense News for Ravalli County ...And Beyond."
Generally submitted material is of a political nature. This is political, but it is also entertaining and different. I have no idea who Dusty Winslow is.
The First Edition welcomes feedback. Feedback on this article will be much appreciated. Personally, Hike the change of pace, and we all need a laugh.

So Nick Dixon's plan to surprise his wife with flowers for their anniversary fell apart because he couldn't find a safety pin.
My buddy Nick, the retired porn star, wanted to get Donna
some roses, but since times are tight, he was hoping to do a little
bartering. The florist said she'd give him 2 dozen roses if he could fix the back door that kept sticking.
Nick isn't very handy with tools, so he asked Stinky Pete if he'd do it. Stinky said he would if Nick could get him a date with the hot new bank teller. The bank teller agreed on the condition that Nick provide a limo for the date. Since Nick runs a limo service, it was a done deal.
On the night of the date, Nick picked up the bank teller, but on the way over to Stinky's place, her bra strap broke. She was embarrassed and refused to go on the date unless Nick could find something to fix the bra. He couldn't.
There was no date, the door didn't get fixed and Donna didn't get any flowers.
That got me to thinking.
Even the best thought out plans can come crashing down over the smallest detail. Take for instance President Obama's health care reform.
The people elected a man who was going to change things. And they elected a Democratic Congress that would have the power to make his changes a reality.
But then the changes started, and it wasn't what the people had
hoped for. We're still fighting 2 wars, terrorists are still attacking our

country, and unemployment is at 10%.
So folks started asking, "Where's the change that you promised?"
"We're changing everything," answered Congress. "We're changing the health care system to keep insurance companies from making money. You won't get the same level of treatment as before, and it'll cost a trillion dollars, but a small portion of the American population that doesn't have health insurance and doesn't want it will now be covered.
"We're passing Cap and Trade legislation to keep the oil and gas and coal companies from making money. It'll cost a few jobs and make the price of energy go way up, but it's good for the planet.
"Oh yeah, we're going to fine banks for making money because it's not good enough to pay back the government what you owe plus interest. See, we're even changing the
View of the Bitterroot Dusty Winslow Page 2
rules as we go along. And the biggest change is going to be to the national debt. But you don't need to worry about that right now."
Well, folks were confused and upset. They tried to explain to Congress that what they meant by change was more jobs, a stronger economy, and better security.
Congress told them "It's too late. We're going to push these changes through whether you like it or not. The plan is in motion. We're in control and there's nothing anybody can do to stop us." But like Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Simon Bar Sinister before them, they'd overlooked one small detail. It wasn't James Bond or Underdog who defeated their evil plot; it was the will of the voters.
The Massachusetts senate race was supposed to be a no-brainer. Ted Kennedy had always held that seat. There was no way a Republican could be elected. Democrats outnumber Republicans
3 to 1 in Massachusetts. What they failed to realize is that Independents outnumber both of them combined, and they were pissed.
Scott Brown, a Republican, was elected on a platform of lower spending and less government. His election ended the filibuster-proof stranglehold that the Democrats had in the Senate and spelled an end to their health care reform plans. Suddenly, the wheels fell off Obama's soapbox derby racer.
But the President has vowed to push on. The election loss was a result of a poorly run campaign by a bungling candidate, not a referendum on health care.
Not all House Democrats are so willing to ignore the voices from back home. There aren't enough votes to pass the health care bill in its current form, and the whole process will probably have to start over in a true bipartisan manner.
Who knows? Maybe Obama will stop acting like Auric Goldfinger with his Operation Grand Slam, forcing things down America's throat and ignoring the real problems in this country.
Wait a minute...if Obama is Goldfinger does that mean that the Speaker of the House is Pussy Galore.
I don't know, I guess I think too hard about these things.

Science clashes with materialistic ideology

The recent revelations of suppressed e-mails between high level global warming scientist that advocate the elimination of data unsupportive of the global warming religion has opened the eyes of many to the potential of ideology to corrupt science. For far too long the modern advocates of scientific materialism have tried to convince us to be unquestioning sheep while they lead us to the
brave new world. They have tried to cloak science with the patina of infallibility while purposefully confusing what is ethical with what is scientifically possible.
Too often we are asked to accept morally objectionable practices such as fetal stem cell research that are based on false hopes given by certain scientist and other elites who are really more interested in advancing an anti human agenda. Those with even a cursory familiarity with science know that it is by nature always changing
and never 'settled'. Nor can it answer the most meaningful questions about our existence. Don't get me wrong, as a physician I rely on science daily to help make medical decisions, but I also understand that science is quite limited. I would be very careful about trusting my own care to someone who believes that science can explain everything.
Those who recall the flap over the discussion of intelligent design in our public schools may also see that this had little to do with

science and much to do with a materialistic ideology which rejects the very idea of a Creator. Darwinian science is woefully inadequate to explain many of the fundamental questions concerning the existence of the universe, life, and the real reasons why we are
here. Yet some scientists who have an axe to grind against the idea of God have been telling us that the science is 'settled' for over
a century. They would like to convince us the same about global warming.
The Nazi final solution would not have happened without the highly overrated theories of Charles Darwin, yet many still refuse to see these connections or to decrease their attachment to Darwin. The millions killed in the gulags by the communist would not
have died without the theories of 'scientific socialism' developed by Karl Marx. Corrupt theories as propagated by the likes of Freud, Margaret Mead, Alfred Kinsey and others have abused science
in ways that have made life worse for millions. Implementing the proposed solutions for non existent global warming such as 'cap and trade' will further cripple many developing regions which need energy to escape poverty. How many more will suffer needlessly if those who push this false science and dangerous ideology should get their way?

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
But I could be wrong.....

The recent political victory of Scott Brown proved a number of things. One being that the Irish of Massachusetts are much smarter than the Swedes of Minnesota. The Honyockers of that
state sent a mental midget, Al Franken, to the United States Senate last year. Yah Sure, U Betcha! Franken and Robert Gibbs both swim outside the gene pool.
Ronald Reagan spoke of "trickle down economics." The Scott Brown victory, coupled with political change of administrations in Virginia, and other states can now be viewed as, "trickle down politics." It's happenin' baby!
Regardless of the positive effect it is going to have in this nation, it may have actually started at the bottom grass roots level, and has worked upward. Right here in Ravalli county, for example. Began with public rejection of the Growth Policy at the ballot box in 2008. Continued with Tea Party demonstrations in 2009 and 2010. People of this county began to awaken after November 2007 when they became aware a small minority had been successful in dominating local politics with the sly and successful attempt to burden this county with additional expense and bureaucracy by the addition of 2 extra commissioners.
Nationwide, Tea Parties and Town Meetings took root. When
those were ignored, discounted and characterized as just "mob men-
tality", that only further awakened the average citizen, who found
they were not being heard. Guys like, "Joe the Plumber." Small
business people and entrepreneurs, like Dick and Nancy Neville in
log homes business; Charles Donaldson in concrete; Chip Pigman,
home builder; Brien Weber farm supply; Huls family dairy opera-

tion; Cheryl Patzer of the Coffee Cup Café, and countless others, who provide jobs in this county. They are the grassroots backbone of our economy.
State of The Union speech once again featured Nancy Pelosi as she repeatedly sprang from her chair with the wild clapping reminiscent of a circus seal.
Early in his term, BarackO was sometimes jokingly referred to as, "An empty suit." That is no longer a joke. The evidence of just how hollow it has become is obvious to the nation and the world from each daily oration. The Wizard of Oz, in our time. Smoke and mirrors. But he has reduced unemployment in D.C. with the appointment of over 35 "Czars." Salaries of many of these are reportedly, "unknown." Government grows the Ecomony slows.
Action of 3 commissioners in the selection of a Board of Health member is questionable. A medical doctor with 29 years of experience which included 13 years on_Health boards in New England, was rejected in favor of a nice lady who reported she had been a jail nurse and had worked in emergency and urgent care. The rationale given by 2 of those 3 commissioners who responded to questions on their decision included phrases like, "I have a lot of empathy", " I'm always interested in learning more", "There's nothing I'm not interested in." Only one Commissioner has yet to respond to the written question on his vote for the least qualified Jim RokoschB'Gosh! It has been well over 3 weeks. Jim serves as a member of that Board. Was his vote political or perhaps, personal? All the more reason he will be replaced as a Commissioner in the next election.
Question: If your aircraft was about to ditch in the Hudson river, would you have more faith in Captain Chesley Sullenberger, or Maryjanewhatsername at the controls? Consider that she might be a very fine stewardess.
Read the Sarah Palm book, Going Rogue, yet? Certainly worth your time, regardless of which side of the issues you sit. Can't see both sides of an issue, with one eye closed. You may not agree with her politics, but how can you deny her beauty, spirituality, morality, dedication and work ethic? That may offend some of the local lady libs in Ravalli county. They know who they are, and their neighbors know who they are, too. None have ever qualified for other than contestants in a Miss Carriage contest.
