Common Sense News For Ravalli County
|
THAT’S MY STORY, AND I’M STICKING TO IT……BUT I COULD BE WRONG!
2012 will be a crucial and interesting year in the future life and health of America, from the local level on up. It will begin with school board elections, in which, unfortunately, the majority of community members take little interest. Big mistake. Qualified, sound thinking community members must be encouraged to get involved in providing an outstanding education for the children of their district. An extremely qualified and passionate individual has recently surfaced as a candidate for the Montana Legislature. Imperative this person be elected from Ravalli county this November. There is a strong hint of a state office candidate being stricken with the Herman Cain Syndrome . Say it isn’t so…………….! Herman was a good man who brought some fresh thoughts to the debates. Never was going to be president, but he told it like it was. Unfortunately, so did some ladies. Ron Paul’s strong showing in the Iowa caucus indicates there may be more Norwegians in that state than previously thought. He shouldn’t be put in a mental institution…… but if he was in one……..he shouldn’t be let out. His manager appears to be Jeff Dunham, ventriloquist/comedian along with side kick, Walter, (the Ron Paul clone), who resides in a suitcase when not addressing an audience. There are three kinds of people. Those who understand mathematics, and those who do not. The administration appears permeated with the latter. Voltaire said, “In general, the art of government consists of taking as much money as possible from one class of citizens to give to the other.” The recent “Occupy” movements are much like a tantrum………….only better organized. Newt is still the smartest guy in the race. But, is he electable? Some believe he is too aggressive, combative etc. Reminiscent of General George Patton, who was rough around the edges, but an excellent leader. He got the job done and undoubtedly shortened WWII with his leadership, even if it did tarnish some brass. America desperately needs this kind of leadership….NOW! Gingrich would certainly dominate any debate with Obama, any time….any place…..any subject. Among the new books from celebrities is one by Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggert and Jesse Jackson entitled “Ministers Do More Than Lay People.” They know. Reading in this election year should include: The Roots of Obama’s Rage, by Dinesh D”Souza, and Dreams From My Father, by Obama. Check ‘em out. The winter issue of the OJ, (Obstructionist’s Journal) also marketed as the Wild Times published by the Alliance For The Wild Rockies, proudly presents 6 articles on the group’s success in blocking/stopping logging operations in Montana. That certainly will be a big help in boosting the economy. With the 2012 political season heating up, the three most annoying female voices on TV and radio are Ann Coulter, Nancy Grace and Wanda Sykes. In the male category, the Big Cheese, ( Rushmore Limburger) has a solid lock on first place. Chris Mathews and Ron Paul not far behind. I could be wrong. Best wishes to all. dave hurtt Jan ‘12 |
