Ron Paul
Gene
Williams 5/16/2012
In
2008 the Ravalli County Republican Central Committee was
infiltrated and seriously damaged by Libertarians and Ron
Paul
supporters.
Paul has run as a Libertarian and as a Republican.
His followers are totally committed to him and they
joined the Republican Party to further the agenda of Ron
Paul.
Paul
has consistently been a fiscal conservative and in my view
that is a big plus for the man.
There was a flap a few years ago over anti-Semitic
and anti-black comments posted on a web site of his.
He explained that he did not write “those words”,
but that they were written by an associate of his.
Personally, I am willing to give the man the
benefit of the doubt, although I am a little skeptical
about his explanation.
It is
his foreign policy position that I find incredible.
This man has repeatedly stated that he could not
see why Iran should not have nuclear weapons.
He also insists that the reason America is being
attacked by Muslims in the Middle-East is because we are
bombing them and trying to take their oil.

This is in response to the
Viewpoint of Van P. Keele in the Ravalli Republic of
4/4/2012.
Gene Williams
4/9/12
Mr. Keele has certainly said a mouthful.
I hardly know where to begin my response.
I'll try here;
"Mr.
Williams’ pitifully quotes from an unreliable, discredited
right wing website (as if their “quote” makes it fact)
that Ms. Fluke came before Democrats as a “stunt” to
complain that it’s too expensive having sex and that her
school should cover her birth control: “Sandra Fluke’s sex
life is draining her bank account.” Once again Mr.
Williams, any residual credibility you once had is
vaporizing."
The
first thing I notice is that Van, like most of his kind,
immediately begins with personal insults.
I realized a long time ago that the posters who do
nothing except launch personal attacks do it because they
can't defend any positions they take.
Just once I would like one of these people to
simply rebut, point by point, what I write.
I don’t think they are capable of that.

I am an old man.
After more than three
quarters of a century being blessed to live in America I
am astounded by what is happening in my country.
Of course old people
have always looked around them after reaching a certain
age and realized how dramatically things have changed in
their life times.
Today technology is
certainly responsible for the rapid changes in this
society.
The changes seem to be
happening faster all of the time.
The other day I was thinking
about my father.
He was born in 1908.
I have a picture of him
standing in front of his Model T Ford truck holding the
handle of the crank that had to be use to start the
engine.
I don’t know how old he
was, but he was very young.
My father lived to see
man walk on the moon.

More on Newt Gingrich
Gene Williams 2/22/12
I received a robo-call from Newt Gingrich about a month ago. A woman confirmed who I was and asked if I would listen to a message from the Speaker. I agreed and was interested in the message.
Newt was asking for money to finance his investigation of the radical leftists who control America’s universities. That is a commendable endeavor, since we know that our entire educational system has been controlled by the far left for decades. The phone call reminded me of things Newt Gingrich has said in the past that were not even close to being conservative. He also has a history of supporting anti-gun legislation. I have known about this for years. But the phone call to solicit funds for an investigation of left wing academics really lit my fuse.

Cell phone use while driving
Gene Williams
1-22-2012
Hamilton City Councilman Al Mitchell recently expressed the
need for regulation banning use of cell phones while
driving. He mentioned a few close calls he had that were
caused by inattentive drivers talking on cell phones. I have
been amazed at the number of people I have observed who are
talking and not paying attention to their driving.
It is incomprehensible to me how people have developed the
habit of talking on a cell phone wherever they happen to be.
In the streets, in supermarkets, anywhere they happen to be.
There are devices that permit phone conversations without
having the phone in hand. The first couple of times I saw
this I actually thought that I was looking at people who
were talking to themselves.

A Tedious Process

Gene Williams Editor 1-19-2012
I don’t know about anyone else, but I have seen several debates too many in recent months. Republican candidates are ripping each other apart in their efforts to become the standard bearer of the GOP against Barack Obama in the 2012 election. This contest has been going on for far too long, with no end in sight.
Any of these candidates would be a better president than Barack Obama, with the possible exception of Ron Paul, whose bizarre ideas on foreign policy rival Obama’s in the threat they present to the national security. So far the Republican candidates have provided Barack Obama and the Democrats with ammunition he will certainly use against the survivor of this circular firing squad. In spite of the damage Republicans are doing to each other, there are a few factors that may save them from themselves Read Article

As my opponents are busy telling you the
wonderful things they will do for you after they are elected, I
would ask one question – “what are they doing
right now ?” Another question that logically follows
is, “now that you have stepped up and thrown your
hat in the ring for political service, what are you
willing to work on if you are not elected
”Interestingly, I asked both of my opponents
that question during a public forum and neither
would answer. I am writing to tell you what I
believe needs to be done and the things I am already
doing to grow the economy and create jobs, protect
our property rights, fix education and get the
federal government’s hands off our healthcare

A Sorry Record
Bruce S. King 2/14-2012
This chameleon-president has stonewalled every effort to release proof that he is or is not a citizen of the United States. What does he gain by refusing to allow the press to see the actual certificate?
According to published reports, he has spent $1.9 million dollars to block anybody from seeing his locked-up birth certificate.
His half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng contends that he was born in a particular Hawaiian hospital, then several years later clamed it was a different hospital. Someone is lying
He erected a wall around his grandmother Marilyn Dunham, thus cutting off access to the one person alive (then) who would have been present if he was actually born in Hawaii.

THAT’S MY STORY, AND I’M
STICKING TO IT……BUT
I COULD BE WRONG! Dave Hurt
1-5-2012
2012 will
be a crucial and interesting year in the future life and
health of America, from the local level on up. It will begin
with school board elections, in which, unfortunately, the
majority of community members take little interest. Big
mistake. Qualified, sound thinking community members must be
encouraged to get involved in providing an outstanding
education for the children of their district
An
extremely qualified and passionate individual has recently
surfaced as a candidate for the Montana Legislature.
Imperative this person be elected from Ravalli county this
November.
There is
a strong hint of a state office candidate being stricken
with the
Herman Cain Syndrome
. Say it isn’t so…………….! Herman was a good man who
brought some fresh thoughts to the debates. Never was going
to be president, but he told it like it was. Unfortunately,
so did some ladies. Read Article

George Soros, a modern day monster.
Gene Williams 4/17/12
In 1998, he wrote: “Insofar as there are collective
interests that transcend state boundaries, the sovereignty
of states must be subordinated to international law and
international institutions.”
How many people know that George Soros is for the
abolition of nation states? This man wants to eliminate that
national sovereignty of the United States of America.
At a Jewish forum in New York City, November 5, 2003, Soros
partially attributed a recent resurgence of
antisemitism to the
policies of Israel and the United States, and the role of
wealthy and influential individuals:
Letter to
Editor on Smoking
Editors
disclaimer as to the
validity of Wayne Adair's article
Wayne Adair wrote the following;
“I take exception to your article “The New Pariahs.”
First, the
premise is seriously flawed. You suggest that modern-day smokers are
ostracized by society just as lepers were in days gone by. That would
be a valid analogy IF lepers chose to be reinfected many times a day,
and willingly paid big money for the privilege of being cursed with
this flesh destroying disease.”
Frankly, I find
that to be an astonishing statement.
Many people do not like smoking because of the destructive
effect it has on the health of those who smoke.
But Mr. Adair’s statement is also astonishing in its callous
disregard for, or knowledge of the fact that smokers are addicted to
nicotine.
Addicted people
have no control over whether they smoke or not.
They will smoke no matter how high the price of cigarettes.
Obviously Wayne Adair never read the article I wrote
castigating the cigarette manufacturers for manipulating nicotine
levels in cigarettes. I
also wrote about the unconscionable amount of money levied from
smokers by both state and federal government.

Some Things To Consider
Bruce S. King
1-12-2012
Freedom-loving Americans want to live in a
society in which the only limits set by government are those
that contribute to our collective safety and protect our
God-given liberties. We are smart enough to choose our
profession, mode of transportation, housing, healthcare,
insurance, right on down to what we want to eat.
Sadly, “big government” is anything but
family friendly! The result being that the politicians have
turned our great bastion of freedom into a burdensome
bloated bureaucracy. Here was President Reagan’s
interpretation; “There is a clear cause and effect here that
is as neat and predictable as the law of physics: as
government expands, liberty contracts”.
Consider these statistics:
-The cost of federal agencies to enforce
over 160,000 pages of rules is more than one trillion
dollars per year (which exceeds all of the federal income
tax collected in 2009.)
